Mel Sherwood

Mel Sherwood is a speaker and author specialising in communication skills. Her mission is to help prepare ambitious entrepreneurs and business professionals to maximise their impact and influence by presenting with confidence, credibility and charisma.

Through her interactive keynotes, masterclasses and one to one sessions, she shares valuable tools that support individuals and organisations to design and deliver winning pitches and presentations. She has coached and trained over 5,000 people who have gone on to secure millions of pounds worth of funding and new business between them using her techniques.

Clients include large Government organisations such as Scottish Enterprise, SMEs from advertising agencies to engineering companies as well as individual entrepreneurs and business professionals in a wide variety of industries.

Described as charismatic, engaging and riveting, Mel is also a popular event host who adds an element of fun to events and really connects with an audience.

Mel’s first book ‘The Authority Guide to Pitching Your Business: How to make an impact and be remembered… in under a minute!’ was published in September 2017 and was nominated for a Business Book of the Year award. She is currently working on her second book based on The RED Effect™, a unique new approach to presenting your best authentic self in any situation.

A Fellow and Past President of the Professional Speaking Association UK and Ireland (Scotland Region), Mel has won several speaking awards and is also a qualified trainer, mediator and NLP Practitioner. An Australian who now calls Scotland home, Mel combines over 20 years’ experience in business with a background as an actor, presenter and singer to help her clients transform their lives and businesses through improved confidence and communication skills.
