Over a 30+ year career at BP, Joe has become a grounded leader, skilled in solving business problems with real innovative digital solutions. Through his 13 years in the BP Group CTO Team, Joe gained deep experience helping businesses understand and exploit technologies such as robotics, machine learning, virtual worlds, game engines, digital marketing activation, track and trace, satellite monitoring, advanced visualization, and social networking. He has produced strategic foresight pieces on the Future of Work in Industry 4.0 and The Future of the Airport.

Joe has also spoken publicly at web, communications, marketing, serious games, and virtual worlds conferences as well as at Stanford University's Media X group, MIT CISR, IE Business School, and Edinburgh University. In addition to serving on various technology boards in London, Joe has co-authored chapters in two books, Learning in 3D by Karl Kapp and Tony O'Driscoll and Next Generation Learning Unwrapped by Nick Van Damm.

Joe is currently enjoying his work as a top technology consultant to several global energy firms and small start-ups, and is passionate about the ability of technology to identify and solve problems inherent in the space. He has taken time out to become a Certified Future Forecaster with the Institute For The Future and is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists.

In his spare time Joe is resurrecting his golf game and composes music for film and TV.
